Configurable CAD
In the updated revision of the OpenOdometry module, we created a configurable CAD file in Onshape. If you are not familiar with the term configurable, it is similar to parameters or variables in other CAD software. Configurable variables, parameters, and variables all serve as substitutes for standard integer dimensions in CAD. Standard integer dimensions in sketches and features must be edited in the features menu, whereas Onshape parameters can be accessed more easily in a configuration menu. In the OpenOdometry CAD there are configuration variables built in to help adjust the dimensions of holes and hexagons to fit the tolerance of your specific printer.
A detailed guide explaining what configuration variables can be changed, how to change them, when to change them to improve your 3D-print tolerance, and how to export these configured parts is available here.
